Abstract

The brick industry is an economic sector that contributes quite significantly to the Gross Regional Domestic Revenue (PDRB) in Batam City where there are 150 small scale brick industry businesses in Batam, but there are still many brick businesses who do not understand the importance of applying occupational health and safety to workers. The purpose of this community service is to provide guidance and understanding to the owners and workers of brick businesses in the city of Batam about the importance of applying occupational health and safety and what are the standards of personal protective equipment needed in doing brickwork. The number of partners in this community service activity is 2 partners with each partner sending 5 workers for each training. The method of carrying out the activity is by using the lecture method and discussion about K3 and obstacles encountered in the field. The results that can be obtained from understanding the importance of applying occupational health and safety in work are healthy workers who will be able to produce good products so as to increase work productivity and work results will increase if work risks can be avoided.
